Private Instruction (PRIV1-CE)

Register at any time during the semester for a block of 12 actual meeting hours of private instruction in a foreign language of your choice. You will be advised, evaluated, and assigned an instructor to help you plan the curriculum based on your needs. Lessons are scheduled according to your own and the instructor’s availability on NYU premises. Register for as many blocks as you need during a semester.

Private instruction in certain foreign languages can be arranged for small groups of three to six students. While an effort is made to coordinate students, NYU does not form groups for private instruction. Already formed groups can register at any time during the semester for blocks of 12 actual meeting hours. Group members then are advised, evaluated, and assigned an instructor who helps them plan the curriculum based on the group’s needs. Lessons are scheduled according to the group members’ and the instructor’s availability on NYU premises. Groups may register for as many blocks as they need in a semester.
