Foundations of Quantitative Analytics I is the first course in a two-part series. The Quantitative Analytics (QA) course series provides opportunities for students to expand their mathematical reasoning skills. The curriculum contains engaging and relevant problems focused on developing the kind of problem solving skills that can be applied to any quantitative course students may take in college. In summer one, students will explore rich algebra-based problems, though algebraic fluency is not a prerequisite. In summer two, students explore fundamentals of proof and evidence in mathematics, and receive some experience with the type of reasoning required on the quantitative portion of college entrance exams like the SATs.

College Essay Writing I is the first course in a two-part series. The College Essay Writing series will introduce students to the rigors of writing a college essay. All writing begins with a prompt that will lead students to create a personal narrative in the first year. The second year will focus on writing an essay for the Common Application. By understanding how to use grammar and rhetorical devices effectively, students will produce two college essays for submission.

Financial Literacy I is the first course in a two-part series aimed at building a foundation for understanding personal finances and making smart financial choices. Through interactive and reflective activities, students will identify key components of banking, saving, and financial goal setting, and will have an opportunity to create their own budget. Students will also leave with a demonstrated understanding of basic knowledge around college finances, including how to determine cost of attendance versus &ldquo;sticker price&rdquo; and applying for loans.

College Prep II is the second course in a two-part series. College Prep II builds on the foundational knowledge developed in College Prep I and during the academic year. The focus of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to continue to hone their academic and career aspirations, and develop their college application materials to submit in the fall. We emphasize fit in identifying various university options, and encourage students to think beyond rankings and intuitional athletic success.
