This introduction to Western Art in different historical periods focuses on pre-20th-century art. The course samples important periods and themes in art history, from ancient Egypt and archaic Greece to the present. This course also enhances cultural, social and aesthetic understanding through intensive engagement with a variety of visual forms in different historical periods. In addition, the course focuses on technological and social developments that drive creative innovation. | Prerequisites: Completion of first year writing requirements. Co-requisites: None.
