Through lectures and discussions, explore theories<br><br> and tools, from cameras to post-production visual effects. Review film <br><br>stock, DV, and HD video formats, lenses, lighting, and crew positions. <br><br>Go from f-stop to final cut as you learn about historical and emerging <br><br>technologies.</p>

APDF1-CE 9921  Digital Filmmaking I  (4 Credits)  
<p>This hands-on introductory course covers basic DV camera operations, <br><br>elementary nonlinear editing, and how to prepare a video production. <br><br>Working in teams with rotating crews, students write, produce, direct, <br><br>and edit individual and group projects&#8212;ultimately demonstrating growing <br><br>confidence with production equipment and professional practices. <br><br>Students use Panasonic 24P cameras with an allotment of videotape and <br><br>other supplies provided by the school.</p>

APDF1-CE 9936  Digital Filmmaking II  (4 Credits)  
<p>By utilizing the skills and experience obtained from previous <br><br>coursework, students produce a short DV project up to eight minutes in <br><br>length. Begin by pitching an idea for a festival-length documentary, <br><br>news feature, music video, experimental piece, or dramatic narrative, <br><br>for instructor's review. Once green-lighted, students assist each other <br><br>as crew members while working on individual or team projects. Tuition <br><br>covers equipment and tape allotment.</p>
