"The goal of the Anesthesiology Rotation is to enhance the medical students' overall knowledge, understanding, and application of pre-op evaluation, perioperative and post Ðoperative care and pain management principles. Students should expect significant interaction with anesthesiologists and other physician extenders specializing in anesthesia and pain management. The rotation will provide a clinical and didactic exposure to all aspects of pre-op, intra-op, post anesthesia and pain medicine in a tertiary care medical center including exposure to acute, chronic, and cancer pain in an adult population. The student will become familiar with the different options for anesthesia and treatment of acute and chronic pain Students will be active participants in care and will be expected to demonstrate learned concepts.
