PSIN1-UC 7942 Professional Studies Internship (4 Credits)
The Professional Studies Internship allows students to apply knowledge from course work to a professional work experience related to their studies. The internship should take place over the duration of the semester. In addition their internship, students attend class meetings with other interns. A written component (a weekly journal and a final paper) is also required. To qualify for an internship, students should have completed 40 credits of coursework, be in good standing in their program, and obtain the approval of their advisor.

PSIN1-UC 7992 Capstone (4 Credits)

This capstone course serves as a culminating experience for students, integrating and applying knowledge and skills acquired throughout their academic journey. Students will engage in a comprehensive project that addresses a real-world problem or challenge relevant to their field. Throughout the course, students will conduct in-depth research, collaborate with peers, and apply critical thinking to develop innovative solutions. Emphasis will be placed on project management, effective communication, and ethical considerations in practice. Students will work closely with a faculty advisor to refine their project scope, methodologies, and outcomes. The course culminates in a formal presentation of the project, showcasing the students’ ability to synthesize knowledge, demonstrate proficiency, and articulate findings to a diverse audience.
To qualify for a Capstone students should have completed 90 credits of coursework, be in good standing in their program, and obtain the approval of their advisor.
