OPHTH-MD 4014 Consultation Ophthalmology (2 Credits)

This course is designed for students who are not planning on a career in ophthalmology, but who want to learn how to evaluate eye emergencies that occur in the inpatient and emergency department settings. Students will spend the duration of the elective working with the consult resident at Tisch Hospital and Bellevue Hospital. They will learn how to perform the bedside eye examination and better understand when ophthalmology consults are needed. Attendance at all didactic sessions and departmental conferences is expected.
