MPAIA-GE 2010  Human Dev/Ed in Arts  (3 Credits)

This course introduces students to concepts of human development within the contexts and intersections of the visual and performing arts. Themes of interdisciplinarity, creativity, imagination, identity, social justice, and culturally sustaining pedagogy frame and inform our investigations.

MPAIA-GE 2041  Seminar in Student Teaching in the Arts I  (3 Credits)

Seminar and supervised student teaching in elementary, middle or high school classroom settings (all grades). Includes scheduled conferences with field supervisor. Student teachers observe, plan, teach, and evaluate arts lessons relevant to their intended certification in dance, music or theatre. In a weekly seminar, student teachers develop and create appropriate goals, negotiate and enact appropriate learning experiences for all learners, assess student learning, and develop their skills as a reflective practitioner.
