<p>Explore the fundamentals of HVAC design. Topics include heating and cooling systems; load calculations, including building envelopes, U-values, internal and external heat gains, and ventilation criteria; psychrometrics; air handling systems and their components, selection criteria, and classification; duct system design, including pressure loss calculation; fan classification and selection; and relevant laws.<br /><br><br><br /><br><br><i>Note: Registering at least two weeks prior to the start of the course date is highly recommended. <p>This course focuses on the types of building systems, including constant and variable volume; vapor compression refrigeration cycle; centrifugal and absorption chillers; heat rejection options, including cooling towers, air-cooled condensers, and river water; pipe sizing for hydronic and steam systems; centrifugal pumps, including selection criteria and pump laws; and boilers and heat pumps.<br /><br><br><br /><br><br><i>Note: Registering at least two weeks prior to the start of the course date is highly recommended.
