PCL10-DN 3510 Adv Periodontics (2 Credits)

The Third Year Periodontics Lecture Course provides foundation knowledge in clinical periodontics, including the relationship of wound healing and tissue response to periodontal surgical therapies (regenerative, cosmetic and implant surgery), the relationship between periodontitis and systemic health and disease, as well as the integration of periodontal therapy in other clinical disciplines and specialties. The knowledge from this course provides background for management of patients with complex periodontal problems, the range of therapies available to such patients, and establishes a basis for interaction of the general dentist with the periodontist. This course is open only to students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program. Core curriculum.

PCL10-DN 4610 Advanced Implant Concepts (1 Credit)
This course will present a synthesis and progression of concepts related to implant surgical and prosthetic planning, drawing on fundamental principles learned throughout the dental school curriculum. With a progression of complexity of case presentations, students will learn to identify and manage treatment plans, complications, and gain exposure to technologically advanced treatment options for implant planning, surgery and restoration. This course is open only to students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program. Core curriculum.
