URBN1-UC 2000 Introduction to GIS (4 Credits)
This course will provide students with basic competencies in spatial visualization and the analysis of geographical information for policy analysis. In recent decades, the large-scale production and processing of geospatial information has become mainstream in policy analysis, requiring professionals in a variety of fields to become familiar with current approaches and technologies. The course will focus primarily on the application of geospatial technologies while also offering students a brief historical overview of the crucial role of maps.

The specific theme of Current Urbanism Issues will change each time it is offered in order to provide students with an opportunity to focus on current issues related to Urbanism.

This course offers intensive study of specific topics in Urbanism, focusing on different themes each semester. The same Special Topics course can only be offered twice.
