Tuition and Fees

MSW Program

NYU Silver School of Social Work charges students per enrolled credit/point each semester. Students will only be billed for the courses in which they are enrolled. Wait-listed courses will not be counted until the student is officially enrolled in the course. Students are advised to check their Bursar account in Albert once the official bill is released, to understand all charges for the upcoming semester.

Please visit the website of the NYU Office of the Bursar for the most up-to-date information on payment options, payment plans, and payment due dates, as well as for total costs depending on your individual credit load per semester.

2025-2026 Tuition and Fees

The schedule of tuition and fees for graduate programs at NYU Silver is established by the Board of Trustees of New York University and is released over the summer.  The NYU Bursar site has the current information on tuition and fees.

The tuition figures on the Bursar site do not include scholarship or financial aid that a student may qualify for.  Please note that NYU and the Silver School of Social Work reserve the right to change the courses, pathways, tuition, and fees at any time.

Estimated Indirect Expenses

Direct Expenses are institutional charges billed to you by New York University via the Office of the Bursar.

Indirect Expenses are estimates of costs that may be associated with your attendance, but are not typically University charges.

The budget shown in Albert listed as "Cost of Attendance" approximates your indirect expenses for the academic year and includes an allowance for room and board (which varies according to where you live); a standard amount for books, supplies, and personal expenses; and a transportation allowance. Typical budgets are presented here to help you understand how your cost of education was determined.

2025-2026 Traditional Program - 9 Months (Fall/Spring) Indirect Expenses

Expense Category Cost
Food $6,450
Housing (Off Campus) $23,588
Books and Supplies $1,510
Transportation $2,342
Personal Expenses $3,000

Total Estimated Indirect Expenses $41,534 (fall/spring combined)

NYU encourages each student to assess their specific expenses and resources, and to finance/borrow only as much as needed.
