Cost of Attendance
While the amount students will pay for their education will vary on a year-to-year basis, due to factors like official tuition, they can get a sense of what to expect with our cost of attendance estimates. These figures are for graduate students attending full time over two semesters. Use them to help plan and understand the financial commitment that comes with being a student. The amounts shown were officially approved in July 2023. Financial aid awards for 2024-2025 are based on estimated expenses which are comparable to the finalized cost of attendance.
A note about direct and indirect expenses:
- Direct expenses are institutional charges billed to students by New York University via the Office of the Bursar. For example, tuition and, if residing on campus, food and housing.
- Indirect expenses are estimates of costs that may be associated with students' attendance, but are not typically University charges. Examples include books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses.
