Bioethics is the study of ethical issues in healthcare, biological sciences, and emerging technologies. Scientific advancements and rapid technological change create complex ethical dilemmas, making it essential to think critically about the social, moral, and political implications.
The Bioethics minor is designed for students with diverse academic interests and career goals, particularly those in medicine, public policy, law, bioengineering, life sciences, public health, journalism, and philosophy. Courses explore foundational moral questions and case studies related to life.
Students may apply for a minor through NYU Albert using the link in the Academics section to be reviewed by the student's home school. If the minor is approved, it will appear on your transcript.
