Advising

Students are required to meet with the Student Retention and Academic Advising Administrator to discuss registration for the individual writing courses and to review their academic plan.

Organized around each Group Practice cohort, the NYU College of Dentistry Student Success Network connects every dental student with a comprehensive network of students, faculty, and staff who provide individualized, one-on-one guidance and personalized support from the moment they enter at New Student Orientation through the entire four years of dental school. Each Group Practice cohort has their own Student Success Network consisting of a designated Academic Advisor, Faculty Mentor, Peer Assessment Facilitator, and Group Practice Director, as well as a set of dental student Peer Mentors and Peer Tutors who work closely with students and each other to promote and support student success.

A dedicated, proactive Student Success Network for each Group Practice cohort helps to create a cohesive community and ensures that each student has numerous points of contact for exploring and accessing resources and opportunities.
