Department Website

Program Description

The undergraduate division of the Department of Mathematics offers a wide variety of courses in both pure and applied mathematics. Faculty are members of the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, which has become a leading research center through its tradition of integrating mathematical theory and applications.

Students who complete any four (4) MATH-UA courses (numbered MATH-UA 120 or higher) are eligible to declare a minor in Mathematics. Students who have a mathematics requirement for their major or joint major must be mindful of not double-counting more than two (2) MATH-UA courses between this minor and their major's program of study. Please view the policies tab for more information.
