Program Description

The minor in East Asian Civilization offers students a comprehensive undergraduate program focusing on the diverse forms of cultural production and social practices of China, Japan, and Korea. The curriculum emphasizes multi- and cross-disciplinary approaches to the study of documents, practices, texts, and their regional and global interconnections. Students undertake in-depth study of East Asian civilization through upper-level thematic seminars.

Minor Declaration

To request declaration of a CAS minor, CAS students should visit the host department. To request declaration of a minor in another NYU school, CAS students should complete the online Minor Application available in their Albert Student Center. Students may also use the Minor Application in Albert to request cancellation of a minor in CAS or in another NYU unit.
