Department Website

Program Description

The advanced certificate in the Comparative Effectiveness and Implementation Research Training Program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is geared toward investigators and other interested persons who have prior training in foundational clinical research methods (epidemiology or biostatistics, for example) and want to gain a background in comparative effectiveness and implementation research.

Applicants are expected to have completed a masters or doctoral degree, or have experience in or plans to participate in a relevant field of research. The program is open to NYU Langone–affiliated healthcare professionals, including dental, medical, and nursing school postdoctoral trainees and faculty, members of H+H affiliates of the NYU Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and individuals from other institutions affiliated with the Clinical and Translational Science Awards of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

If you are interested in this program but do not have experience in clinical research methods, you can be trained in these skills through our MS in clinical investigation.

As part of this nine-credit certificate program, you complete three courses: Introduction to Dissemination and Implementation Science Research, Meta-Analyses and Systematic Reviews, Economic Evaluation in Health and Medicine. Additional courses available include Advanced Methods in Observational Data Analysis. When you complete the program, you receive a New York State–approved Certificate in Health Disparities and Health Equity Research. Read the full course descriptions for the program.
