Facilities
Art and Art Professions
The Department of Art and Art Professions houses art studios and facilities, including private MFA studios, classrooms and workshops for sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing, ceramics, metalsmithing, and sewing. In addition the building has photography labs and computer studios. BFA Senior Studios are located at 75 3rd Ave. 80 WSE is a not-for-profit gallery presenting contemporary and historical exhibitions, including MFA studio art exhibitions.
Communicative Sciences and Disorders
The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is a graduate-training facility within the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders. The clinic offers bilingual services and maintains culturally-responsive practices. Faculty deliver comprehensive clinical education and supervision to graduate student clinicians to prepare them for state licensure and national certification in the field of speech-language pathology.
The Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders also has several active research labs run by faculty conducting innovative research.
Counseling Psychology, PhD
The Center for Counseling and Community Wellbeing is part of the teaching and training program in Counseling Psychology and provides services to meet the social, emotional, and behavioral health of the local community. We provide a range of services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Music and Performing Arts Professions
The Paulson Center provides music and performing arts programs with state-of-the-art, purpose-built spaces for its music and theatre students, including a 350-seat, professional-level proscenium, fly-loft theatre, and the University’s first ensemble rehearsal and performance room.
Additional departmental performance and rehearsal spaces are available in the Education Building at 35 West 4th Street and other locations across the NYU campus.
Nutrition and Food Studies
The NYU Food Lab serves as a hands-on classroom for many courses within the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies and across the University. It is also a food and nutrition idea incubator for our faculty and student body, where local and global issues pertaining to human and planetary health are considered and possible solutions are discussed and tested.
Physical Therapy
Faculty and graduate students conduct research at the Arthur J. Nelson Jr. Human Performance Laboratory, state-of-the-art facility includes 2,000 square feet of dedicated research space. Primary research focus is in the area of pathokinesiology where motor control, cardiopulmonary, and biomechanical issues are investigated in both healthy and patient populations.
