The proposal states, “Students currently enrolled in the program will be able to graduate from the current curriculum until it is terminated on January 1st 2025.” However, it does not appear that a placeholder was requested in the proposal. Please confirm whether New York University will need a placeholder program created/reflected in the IRP to retain the current title of “Tourism Management” for students currently registered in the program until January 1, 2025.

The distance education application indicates that the term length for distance education courses will be 15 weeks and that this is the same as term length for the classroom program. However, it appears from the syllabi that 3-credit courses will run for 14 (not 15) weeks, and 1.5-credit courses will run for 7-8 weeks. Please clarify. Please also confirm that all courses will meet the semester hour definition as stated in Section 50.1(o) of Commissioner’s Regulations: “Semester hour means a credit, point, or other unit granted for the satisfactory completion of a course which requires at least 15 hours (of 50 minutes each) of instruction and at least 30 hours of supplementary assignments...”
-
The proposal states, “we will offer 1.5-credit courses where it is deemed the course content can be successfully taught in 7 weeks.” The majority of the syllabi for the 1.5-credit courses indicate a 7-week schedule. However, the syllabus for one 1.5-credit course, TCTM1- CGXXX Design Thinking and Innovation, indicates an 8-week schedule. Please clarify.
-
The proposal states, “The revisions to the curriculum will not affect the program schedule.” However, given the significant restructuring of the program, the Department requests to see how a student would progress through program with the proposed changes incorporated. Please submit a sample program schedule that incorporates the proposed changes.
-
For courses that only run for half of the semester, please indicate on the sample program schedule if they are to be taken in the first or second half of the semester.

If the capstone course, TCTM1-GCXXXX Leadership, is to be taken in the final semester, along with TCTM1-GC3910 Internship, and remaining coursework, please speak to the feasibility of students completing all of these requirements in the final semester.
