07/29/2025 CK finalizes feedback, sends to EDU: Hi Lindsay, I hope you're doing well. I'm writing with some minor feedback on this proposal. It's in very good shape and needs only some minor tweaks and corrections before it's ready for NYSED submission. See below for a summary of our feedback on the proposal materials and see attached documents for specific in-line comments, suggested revisions, and clarifying questions (make sure to view "all markup" to see all revisions). When sending us your updated proposal materials, please make sure to accept or reject our suggested revisions as appropriate, and make sure all comments are addressed (either by making the suggested revision that appears in the comment, or responding to the comment, if appropriate). Summary of proposal feedback: Narrative Rationale: We have made some suggested revisions to clarify some of the details of changes. We have also added some additional rationale for the removal of the prerequisite courses. Course change across documents: In some documents, it's stated that MPATE-GE 2626 Thesis in Music Technology (0 credits) is changing to MPATE-GE 2603 Thesis Defense (3 credits), but some documents still include MPATE-GE 2626 Thesis in Music Technology. In the attached docs, we have highlighted/commented on this issue wherever it appears so you can update it across docs to ensure consistency (in the narrative rationale, side by side, course sequence, and grad program requirements docs). We did not want to make those updates on your behalf, in case your team decided to revert to the original version of the course. Faculty table: Faculty info is only required for program changes when there are brand new courses for which syllabi are also being submitted, so we will not need to include this table in the submission to NYSED. If we have overlooked something in this regard, please let us know. Dual Degree Impact: This program is associated with one registered dual degree program, a BM Music Technology/MM Music Technology (this dual degree was registered prior to NYSED rolling back requirements on non-licensure related dual degree programs). We are requesting removal of non-licensure, registered dual degrees from the IRP as programs come through for changes, so that the IRP reflects only programs that require registration with NYSED. These dual degree programs can continue to be active at NYU after their listing is removed from the IRP, but we will no longer be required to update them with NYSED when the registered standalone programs undergo change. Can you please confirm whether the BM/MM dual degree program will remain active at NYU, and if there are additional related dual degree programs that are not registered with NYSED? If so, please make sure to connect with the other schools/programs to ensure they are aware of the changes. Please let us know if you have any questions. Warmly, Carina
08/05/2025 Lindsay W submits revised proposal docs: Hi Carina, I'm attaching the 4 updated documents for your review. The Thesis in Music Tech course is 2626 so I've made sure this is now consistent across all documents. (They were going to change the numbering initially and then decided not to, hence the inconsistency.) Also, I noticed we did not include 2626 as a modified course on the course descriptions list, so I've added it there and attached the updated document here as well. Re the dual BM Music Technology/MM Music Technology -- this is the only dual we have with the MM Music Technology program. We would like to remove this dual from the IRP. Once NYSED approves the MM Music Tech revisions, we'll update the dual degree requirements to reflect those changes and notify the Registrar directly. All the best, Lindsay
