TW sends follow-up message to NYSED to register changes for related MPhil: Dear Colleagues, Thank you for your quick review and approval of this program revision. When we submitted this program change proposal, we neglected to include the related MPhil Public Health (program code 35433). Could you please update the record for the MPhil Public Health to match the updates that were made to the PhD Public Health (program code 07948)? Regards, Titilayo

NYSED responds to request for MPhil registration, requests confirmation of compliance: Hello Titilayo, We have created a change proposal for the MPhil Public Health (program code 35433). The proposal number is 2025-0183. In order to process the MPhil, we require confirmation from the University that the MPhil program will meet Section 52.2(c)(9) of Commissioner’s Regulations. [Section 52.2(c)(9) – Curricula and awards. The master of philosophy degree shall require completion of all requirements for the degree of doctor of philosophy except the dissertation, and shall require that the student has been admitted to candidacy in a doctor of philosophy curriculum offered by the institution conferring the master of philosophy degree.] Once I receive confirmation, I will be able to move forward with the registration of the approved changes for the MPhil in Public Health. I look forward to hearing from you. Best, Ellen _____________________________________________ Ellen Stevens, Associate in Higher Education New York State Education Department

TW responds to NYSED request confirming MPhil compliance: Ellen, Thanks so much for creating a change proposal for this request. This email confirms that the New York University's Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Public Health program is designed to fully comply with Section 52.2(c)(9) of the Commissioner's Regulations. Specifically, the MPhil degree requires students to: (1) complete all requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Public Health degree, with the sole exception of the dissertation and (2) have been formally admitted to candidacy within NYU's Doctor of Philosophy Public Health. Please let us know if you require any further information or documentation.
