TW approves notes, JS sends to Nursing: Hi Sarah, Thank you for putting together this thoughtful proposal. I have completed my initial review - please see below for notes, as well as attached to review track changes/in-line comments in the NYSED document. We are kindly requesting that you complete the revisions by next Tuesday, December 5th. Proposal Feedback: NYSED Program Change Form: I have revised the sections in the form requesting "a brief narrative to explain the rationale for the changes," as well as "implementation date and impact on current students," to ensure the content in each section matches what is being asked. Please review and confirm the accuracy. The reduction of 16 clinical hours will come entirely from the Common Health Problems of Adults course - the document states that “clinical hours are calculated at a rate of 175 hours to 1 credit, the course time will be only minimally affected—a difference of .09 credits. The program director will ensure that the course continues to provide 3 credits of didactic content.” Please confirm that the course will still maintain credit integrity for a 3 credit course, i.e. at least 2,250 minutes of instructional time. The course title in the syllabus provided - Common Health Problems Across the Adult Lifespan - does not match the title in the NYSED form - Common Health Problems of Adults and Older Adults & Seminar. Please provide a syllabus with the correct title, or change the title in the NYSED form - they must match. Side-by-Side: MS/MPH program: the courses taken under GPH are missing, please add. Syllabus: There are two course numbers listed for this course: NURSE-GN.2037 & GN.2033. Please clarify. The Basis of Final Grade Determination is missing - there should be a range provided, i.e. “100-95: A, 94-88: A-,” etc. While there is a link provided in the “Grading Policy” section, this does not provide a link to the Student Handbook, as described. Please either a) provide a breakdown in the s

Sarah Irvin of Nursing responds to OAPRA's revisions: Hi Jesse, Kim and I have reviewed the proposal with your feedback. I've attached an updated proposal and syllabus here. Please see our responses in red below: NYSED Program Change Form: I have revised the sections in the form requesting "a brief narrative to explain the rationale for the changes," as well as "implementation date and impact on current students," to ensure the content in each section matches what is being asked. Please review and confirm the accuracy. Kim and I have made additional slight edits to this content for your review. This course will continue to provide the required 2,250 minutes of instructional time; we have updated the narrative to reflect this. The course title in the syllabus provided - Common Health Problems Across the Adult Lifespan - does not match the title in the NYSED form - Common Health Problems of Adults and Older Adults & Seminar. Please provide a syllabus with the correct title, or change the title in the NYSED form - they must match. The course title in the syllabus has been revised to match what is reflected in the proposal. Side-by-Side: MS/MPH program: the courses taken under GPH are missing, please add. GPH courses have been added to the side-by-side. Syllabus: There are two course numbers listed for this course: NURSE-GN.2037 & GN.2033. Please clarify. NURSE-GN 2037 is listed as Common Health Problems of Adults and Older Adults & Seminar. This course is usually taken by AGPCNP students. The course title NURSE-GN 2033 Common Health Problems Across the Adult Lifespan for Family Nurse Practitioners. This course was set up for the FNP. Looking at our syllabi archive, it does appear that these two courses use the same syllabus, which is why both course numbers appear. For this submission, the syllabus has been updated so that GN 2033 has been removed, and the course title reflects that of GN 2037. The Basis of Final Grade Determination is missing - there should be a range provided, i.e. “100-95: A, 94-88: A-,” etc. While there is a link provided in the “Grading Policy” section, this does not provide a link to the Student Handbook, as described. Please either a) provide a breakdown in the syllabus, or b) include a hyperlink to the Student Handbook w/ the grading breakdown. The syllabus has been updated to provide the breakdown and the correct hyperlink. Please let us know if you need anything else.
