02/22/2024 during training on advanced certificates, JS and CK review proposal and JS's initial feedback. CK to review revised docs sent by GSAS, to confirm with JS that all OAPRA feedback has been incorporated
03/11/2024 Erica Heaney reaches out for a status update - JS and CK to finalize review this week, and reach out to GSAS with any additional feedback. CK has reviewed GSAS's revisions, and it appears most of OAPRA's feedback has been incorporated
03/15/2024 JS writes to Emma Heaney to confirm as follow up review is being finalized: do you approve of the suggested edits in sections 4.1 and 4.6? Once confirmed, JS will ping TW for final review
03/15/2024 Emma confirms JS can approve suggestions
03/15/2024 JS pings TW that second review is complete, all OAPRA feedback appears to have been incorporated
03/26/2024 TW and JS meet, JS to ask clarifying questions re: to be hired faculty and course descriptions
03/26/2024 JS reaches out to GSAS: Hi Emma, Thank you so much for your patience while we completed our follow-up review. Two quick clarifications before we submit to NYSED: Course Descriptions: I see one example for Topics in Experimental Writing: Precarious Media: Poetry, Catastrophe, Imagination. Can you a) confirm all other course descriptions are elective courses, and b) provide one more example for the Topics in Experimental Writing requirement? We should have at least two examples for each (note: I do see a course titled Topics in Creative Writing: perhaps this was meant to be a Topics in Experimental Writing course?) Faculty table: Lara Mimosa Montes is listed in the "to be hired" table with a hiring date of 01/01/2024, but is also listed in the "current faculty" table. Can you confirm if she was hired? If so, I will remove her from the "to be hired" table. Once the above points are clarified, I will prepare for NYSED submission.
03/29/2024 Emma responds: Hi Jesse, Thanks, as always, for your excellent careful work on our behalf. Lara Mimosa Montes's "The Form of Things Unknown" is the other Topics in Experimental Writing Course that we have designated as fulfilling the requirement. You will find the syllabus in among the others in the pdf I sent. We did hire her in response to your second question, so please do delete the "to be hired" listing. Thanks again for all your help.
03/29/2024 JS responds to Emma: Thanks, Emma! I will remove Lara Mimosa Montes from the "to be hired" table. Just to confirm the categories for the six courses with descriptions in the application: Sample Topics Course: CEH-GA 3050 Topics in Experimental Writing: Precarious Media: Poetry, Catastrophe, Imagination/ Professor Shiv Kotecha Sample Topics Course: CEH-GA 3050 001 The Form of Things Unknown Lara Mimosa Montes Sample Elective: CEH-GA 3053 Genre Trouble: Monstrous Texts & Experiments in Writing/ Professor Sonia Werner Sample Elective: CEH-GA 1018 004 The Desired Effect of Fiction: Reading and Writing Across Subgenre Professor Emma Heaney Sample Elective: CEH-GA 3050, Topics in Creative Writing: Perversion, Pleasure, Poetry Professor Shiv Kotecha Sample Elective: DRAP-GA 3012, GCASL 384, The Curatorial
04/01/2024 Emma responds to JS: Dear Jesse, Yes, this all looks correct. Thank you again for your meticulous attention. I'm available by phone or email for any followups.
04/01/2024 JS writes to TW, confirms that clarifying questions from OAPRA have now been answered - can JS submit to NYSED?
04/02/2024 @Titilayo Weech please see here for the final version of the program change form, reflecting GSAS's response to our two clarifying questions - when I have the greenlight, I will prepare for NYSED submission
04/17/2024 TW responds to JS: I've completed my review and made two edits: program description and faculty table. Once those are revised, it's ready to go to NYSED.
04/17/2024 JS prepares proposal for NYSED submission, sends to TW
04/17/2024 TW submits to NYSED, JS notifies GSAS
