Curriculum
- Send syllabus for OT-GE 2743 Neurological Evaluation & Intervention
- Are two enrollments required for OT-GE 2703 Fieldwork II in Occupational Therapy? If students are required to take this course twice, how will this be reflected on the student’s transcript?
- Show how the one course syllabus can be reflective of the expectations and requirements for the two different experiences w/ different populations.
- Are students required to complete a certain number of hours in each fieldwork level II placement? If so, include on the syllabus.
- OT-GE 2002 Human Anatomy says it is a lecture but the course objectives speak to the Human Anatomy cadaver course and discusses sessions with Open Laboratory. Please provide further information regarding the instruction methods for this course and how they align with the course objectives.
- OT-GE 2003 Human Anatomy Lab is taken in the following semester. Show how students will be able to apply their lecture learning to laboratory course in the following semester.
- For OT-GE 2040 Professional Issues I and OT-GE 2041 Professional Issues II, show how each course includes graduate level learning in order to award .5 graduate level credits each.
- OT-GE 2722 provides a rubric for an OT Fieldwork Seminar Oral Presentation but this does not appear to be an assessment method for this course. Please explain.
- Both fieldwork level 1 courses require students to complete one reflection paper however, the first course in the sequence includes two placements and the second course in the sequence includes one placement. Will students in the first course with two placements reflect on both placements within the one reflection paper?
- In Research Methods for Occupational Therapy, there is a due date for data collection however this is not described in the assignment and does not count towards the overall course grade. Explain.
- Syllabi for Research Methods for Occupational Therapy and Research Seminar I have the same course number of OT-GE 2725.
- Provide further information regarding the Final Project Paper required within Research Seminar I.
- The syllabus shows this assignment has two asterisks after it however, there is no additional information provided in the syllabus.
- Provide further information regarding what elements are required within the final project paper and confirm if this is the same assignment as the research proposal.
- In this course students are required to submit a letter of intent which is worth 20% of the course grade. In the description of the assignment for the Final Research Proposal it mentions students need to submit an Abstract and a due date will be provided but this is not part of the course grade. Please provide further information regarding these two assignments and how they differ.
- The description for the Presentation assignment explains the presentation will be worth XX% of the final grade however, this is not shown as a method of assessing the student. Please explain.
- Please provide further information regarding the competency checklist assignment in OT-GE 2742 Rehabilitation Evaluation and Intervention. It appears students will be responsible for evaluating other students’ competence. Please confirm.
- The methods for assessing the student show this assignment as pass/fail however, the competency checklist grading rubric section of the syllabus explains if students earn an F on the checklist it will result in a deduction of 15 points from the final course score. Please explain.
- The requirement within OT-GE 3814 Doctoral Capstone Project shows students will need to disseminate their findings and 40% of the course grade is for Dissemination Product and Presentation. Provide further information regarding the dissemination of the capstone project and how this will occur and to what type of audience.
Faculty
- The Program Director shows they will designate 19.5% of their time to the program. Show how this will be enough time for this faculty member to fulfill their obligations as the Program Director.
- There are 11 core faculty members who will contribute an equivalent of 1.94 FTE to the program. Provide further information regarding these core faculty members and how their time designated to the proposed program was determined.
- The proposal explains faculty are designated 45% to teaching and clinical faculty designate 80% to teaching. Is this reflective of the faculty workload?
- Table 3 Projected Staff For the Proposed Program shows the program intends to have 4.68 FTE designated to the program. With an anticipated maximum enrollment of 147 students in the fifth academic year. Please provide further information to show how this student to faculty ratio will be able to support student learning including time for mentorship of the doctoral capstone projects.
- In reviewing the CV for Dr. Patten it appears their name is different in listed publications and presentations. Please clarify the name for Kristie K. Patten and also provide their NYS license number.
- Please provide further information regarding Offiong Aqua including NYS licensure information and verify what their role will be within the proposed program.

- Please provide a list of available clinical sites to support the fieldwork level I, fieldwork level II, and potential doctoral capstone experiences.
11/07/2022: The Department considers 12 credits per semester as full-time for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In order for the program(s) to be considered full-time please provide a program schedule which shows students can complete a minimum of 12 credits per semester. Otherwise we will need to add the part-time format designation for NYS program registration purposes.
